ChiJi/Zher4zi4 How Tones Work

The first tone is the high, flat tone. The second tone starts lower and rises to the first tone. The third tone starts low with a quick rise to just below the second tone. The fourth tone starts at about the same pitch as the second tone, but falls with time. A fifth tone, called the neutral tone, is a flat pitch in the middle of the range.
